Yoni Shrira is an award-winning director of photography born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He fell in love with film at the age of 11 when his babysitter secretly took him to see Kill Bill Vol. 1, which propelled him to write cheesy bank heist thrillers that he shared with no one.
Initially going to undergrad for psychology with the purpose of becoming a therapist (because his mother told him he wouldn’t be successful if he pursued film), he took a Film 101 class to satisfy a required credit and undeniably fell in love with the process of making movies, specifically visual storytelling.
From there, he got his start shooting documentary photography and camera assisting, which eventually led him back to LA where he graduated with a masters degree in cinematography from the American Film Institute.
Since then, Yoni has worked with diverse talent and brands from Toyota and Modelo to Jared Leto, Dababy, and many others. His work has been displayed at Tribeca, Palm Springs, Redcat, CAA Mobius, and Seattle. He currently has three documentary features in post production.
